With the June 2023 update, a number of design enhancements were introduced for pop-ups (and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript). These changes happened automatically, with no adjustments or editing needed on the map author's part. These changes included:

  • A redesigned feature pagination and menu button
  • Improved media pagination
  • Improved color ramps and matching tooltips for charts

With the changes for pagination, one of the things you will notice is the appearance of the title of the pop-up in the feature pagination list. The example below from the Living Atlas shows the pop-up title, in this case the county name, displayed in the feature list.

If the layer pop-up was not configured with a title, the word "Untitled" will be displayed. Below is an example of live stream gauges from the Living Atlas.

It's easy enough to improve the feature pagination, simply add a title to your pop-ups. For best results, choose something unique that will provide context for selecting other features from the list. For example, the pop-up shown above was reconfigured to include a title using the name attribute to provide a unique title to the feature pop-up.

By adopting the addition of titles as a best practice for pop-up configuration, you'll avoid presenting "Untitled" to viewers.
