The US Hydro was a four day event, from March 18th through 21st 2019.

Organized every two years, alternating with Canadian Hydro by the Hydrographic Society of America (THSOA), it was in Biloxi, Mississippi this year.

It brought together people, government organizations, academia and industry connected with the hydrographic domain. The purpose was to share professional knowledge and the latest technology developments applied to hydrographic sciences.

THSOA also had its general meeting during the conference, bringing representatives of all the national chapters, and Latin America, that ArcGIS for Maritime's Rafael Ponce chairs, to present an annual report and discuss common issues, membership and work plans.

Esri had a booth and a half a day workshop on Monday, which was hosted by our ArcGIS for Maritime subject matter experts: Randall Billy, Caitlyn Raines, Lee Brinton, Guy Noll and Rafael Ponce. The special guest attending was Clark Lawlor from Esri Canada.

During the week, there were meetings with leaders and representatives from some national HOs such as NOAA, NGA, USACE, Canadian Hydrographic Service, as well as academia such as University of Southern Mississippi (USM) and University of New Hampshire (UNH), to discuss their different needs and implementation of the ArcGIS platform in their organizations.

Hydrography students were also some of the interested visitors!
