We are pleased to announce that ArcGIS Maps for Microsoft Fabric is officially in Public Preview. With ArcGIS Maps for Fabric, you can visualize spatial data within the Microsoft Fabric environment using a high quality, custom map interface. If you’ve been extending your data using ArcGIS GeoAnalytics for Microsoft Fabric, you can now display those data using an interactive mapping experience. ArcGIS Maps for Fabric allows you to collaborate with colleagues to unveil spatial insights and make informed decisions with your data.

In ArcGIS Maps for Fabric, you can access spatial data from your lakehouse, as well as a variety of basemaps, and a suite of layers from ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World. You can extend your experience in ArcGIS Maps for Fabric by signing into your ArcGIS Online account. This gives you access to your ArcGIS Online Content. ArcGIS Maps for Fabric recognizes geospatial data provided in CSV and GeoJSON file types. GeoParquet support is coming soon.

Get started

To start using this workload, a tenant administrator may need to enable ArcGIS Maps for Fabric at the tenant level from the Admin portal. The Admin portal can be accessed from the Settings pane. Enable the ArcGIS Maps for Microsoft Fabric preview experience by clicking toggle switch under Tenant settings. Additionally your workspace capacity must be sufficient to save items from the workload. You may need additional API permissions to enable the workload. More information can be found in our Documentation.

During the preview, ArcGIS Maps for Fabric will be available with no additional cost. We're excited for you to try it out and see how it can help you visualize your data. Check out this blog post to explore a bit about the workload and connect with resources to help you get started.
