Yes, this was more of a UI question/request. I feel it would be beneficial to be able to read the error message with an option to "save" it.
I wasn't sure if there was a way to view the error other than repeatedly "saving" it then opening it. I've gotten to the point where I assume it's the same error.
For example the error message could simply say (as in this case) "The layer has been added to the map. It cannot be displayed in the map preview area at the current scale and projection, but it will be in your Illustrator file when the map is synced."
