I have a shp file that is the product of merging seven shp files into one. When I set transparency to 60% and then convert to kmz, the areas where the original shp files overlap is about 30% transparent. How do I prevent overlap? Did I do something wrong when merging the shp files? Do I need to clip each shp file by using its neighbors and then merge the trimmed files? Other? Or maybe there is some way to control transparency of kmz file that I am not aware of. When I right-click on properties in GE, it doesn't give me the option to adjust transparency. Working with polygons only. ArcMap 10.1.
