Hello, I have a question and i hope someone can help me. I used the tool "make grids and gesticules layers" to make a grid. I also have a layer, with the landuse in eastern germany. I now want to analyse for all of the grid cells, how much of the surface is used by the different landuse types (forest, settlement area....). Is there a possibility to do that?

Thanks a lot.

You need to create a 'fishnet'

Create Fishnet—Data Management toolbox | ArcGIS Desktop

you don't do this in the layout view, but where the data resides in the dataframe or map view depending on whether you are using arcmap or ArcGIS pro

Thanks Dan,

I created a fishnet now. But how do i analyse all of the cells now? I´m using arcmap by the way.

I would look at the Analysis Tools in Arctoolbox, one of the overlay tools (perhaps intersect) might be appropriate

I found it now. The tool is "Tabulate Intersection". Thanks again, Dan.
