Right now I've stitched together Google Maps satellite photos in Photoshop. I was wondering if it was possible to somehow extract or download a highly detailed satellite, or otherwise topographic map via the Arcgis website. Preferably without labels. I imagine there must be a base file somewhere which would allow the download of a highly detailed zoomable map. If it's large in size that does not really matter - my current custom map is around 10GB. However, it lacks quality since at certain points during the process I slightly distorted the scale by accident.
I'd love to have access to (relatively) detailed maps of Europe, the Middle East and Japan for animation projects, but finding proper source material has been quite difficult over the years. Creating these custom maps takes a lot of time and is very prone to errors, hence the question.
Thanks in advance!
Hey @OscarArcgis
I'm curious if you've checked out this website here for Europe?
https://www.mapsforeurope.org/access-data
It has a Tiff file able to be downloaded along with a Pan-European Imagery file which may be extracted or requested as well.
I've found this here for Japan as well, but it doesn't seem nearly as detailed: https://www.gsi.go.jp/kankyochiri/gm_japan_e.html
