Reporter app does not zoom to reports

When clicking on reports (e.g., comments) in the Reporter app, the map zooms to a particular extent but does not actually navigate to the report. It simply zooms to that extent wherever you are currently on the map. So if you are collecting comments and want users to view them through the reporter sidebar, the map does not pan and zoom to the comment you are reading.

Hi @Welch_Nicolas the comments are associated to the reports, and when you're viewing a report the map zooms to the report's location. The comments are listed and as you read through them there is no zoom to triggered. This is by design.

"So if you are collecting comments and want users to view them through the reporter sidebar, the map does not pan and zoom to the comment you are reading." Are you using the app to collect comments on the existing reports?. Could you provide more information on why you'd need to zoom to while reading comments

I am also encountering this bug within Reporter Instant App. As reports come in, we want other commenters to be able to zoom to each report by clicking a "report" in the side bar, review what was entered, and even like what the previous commenter had to say.

Currently if you click a report, it zooms in wherever your current view is, rather than panning and zooming to the selected report

after selecting report. zooms but does not pan to selected report.PNG

Hi @StephenGazdikThanks for sharing your feedback. However, this is not a bug—it’s working as designed.

Is there a specific reason you're expecting it to zoom to the report? In this sample, you’ll notice that selecting a report in the panel highlights the corresponding feature on the map. Users can also click a feature directly on the map to conveniently open its associated report—if it’s part of the reporting layer.

Yes, we are expecting it to pan & zoom to an individual report since that was the original functionality within Crowdsource Reporter, which now Reporter has replaced. Our clients appreciated that workflow and had many stakeholders comment on how nice it was. Also, selecting a report in the panel which opens up its attributes and the ability to 'like' said report, that action also triggers the map to zoom in wherever the map was currently centered. If that's the desired functionality, I think that should be looked at again. Ideally the action would be to pan & zoom when a left click on a report in the side panel (crowdsource reporter) like Nicolas and I mention would be the ideal. Or at least allow us to toggle that functionality on/off in the configuration settings.
