I have developed a number of 'Compare' Configurable apps, and I was hoping that it would be possible to open the app at a number of specific locations. Below is a link to one of the apps..
https://dfi-ni.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Compare/index.html?appid=4ae28908e68942479d75c047547e9e43
The locations are saved as 'bookmarks' in the left hand map pane.
I have tried enabling the 'Social Sharing' option, but the short URL returned when this option is enabled, converts to e.g.
which suggest that its using Lat/Longs (my app is in irish Grid).... so when I use above link the browser opens in the wrong location, and my main content doesn't display (the main content is also secured using [Limit Usage] parameters on the map services).
I have also tried the following link, which opens the app at the correct location... however the map content which is secured using [Limit Usage] doesn't display.
I'd appreciate any ideas on how to resolve.
(I'd prefer to keep map services underpinning the app secured).
Regards,
Malcolm
Solved! Go to Solution.
You can use projected coordinates but there is still the sign-in issue.
I haven't setup a layer to use the limit usage approach but when you limit usage are you specifying the full url of the app? Have you tried just using the apps directory something like https://dfi-ni.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Compare

Hi Kelly,
your 2nd suggestion seems to have fixed it. I was specifying the full URL of the app, and have cut that back to the apps directory (as you've suggested) for the 2 map services that are used within the app.
Thanks very much for your assistance.
