We have added some exciting enhancements in Manager Instant App in ArcGIS June 2025 update. With these changes Manager will reach full planned functional parity with Crowdsource Manager template. Crowdsource Manager, Reporter and Polling as outlined in the ArcGIS Configurable Apps Retirement Roadmap are scheduled to retire, and modern Instant Apps Reporter and Manager are ready to take their place. These old legacy apps will not work after the retirement so please consider migrating your workflow to these Instant apps if you haven't already.

If you prefer a structured, solution-based approach, the Citizen Problem Reporter solution is updated now with these Instant Apps. It offers fully packaged reporting and managing workflow with preconfigured apps, maps, layers, and dashboards—ideal for quickly deploying a complete experience for submitting, managing, and visualizing community issues.

Bulk attribute editing

You can now batch edit field attributes (batch update and delete) in Manager, we leveraged Editor widget's bulk attribute editing capability but it works little bit differently. We have added a Edit multiple button, when there are multiple features selected, Edit multiple button will activate and clicking on this button will open the bulk attribute form directly in Manager. This functionality have some limitations at this moment. Please visit the documentation for detail information.

Layer and field visibility control

Manager now honors web maps layer and field visibility settings. If you turn off certain layers and fields and then create a Manager app, you will see those layers and fields turned off in the configuration panel of the app. Please note that this functionality does not automatically update if the web map is updated. It only pull in visibility from the map when it is first added to the app.

We also added configuration setting to control layer visibility from Manager. Sometimes same map can be used in many different apps and controlling layer visibility from the map may not be an option, in those cases you can set the visibility in Manager App. Another good use case of this functionality is, turn of the visibility of related tables if  you do not need them to show up as a separate table in the app. You can find this setting in Manager app-> Interactivity ->Layer options. You can currently select one layer at a time but you can de select all layers when you click on the X button. We are working on adding a Select all option for future release.

Multi selection map tool

We have added multi selection map tool in Manager this release, you can select multiple geographically adjacent features from map, You can use this tool in addition to the table selection to refine your selected set. The tool works with Feature selection mode setting in the configuration, if the feature selection mode is multiple (the default setting), then this tool will show up on the map.

Feature selection mode:

We have added a new configuration setting for feature selection mode. The default is multiple selection. This setting works with the multi selection map tool and bulk attribute editing button (Edit multiple). In many cases you may not want your users to batch edit or delete, in those cases this setting will be helpful. When selection mode is single, multi selection tool will not show up and Edit multiple button will be disabled. Table and map will only allow single selection. You can find this configuration setting in the Interactivity > Modify tab.

Related records and attachment navigation from parent table

We added support to navigate to related records and attachments from the parent feature to child feature and vice versa, the user experience is the same as map viewer and other apps that uses JavaScript Feature table. You can interact with related records directly from here. You can view, update, delete and add attachments to it. You don't need your related table as a separate layer in the app , so you can turn off its visibility in the configuration. You can also add, update and delete attachment in the similar way

You can also turn on or off these fields from the field visibility settings.
