When assigning multiple people to a single unit within the Space Planner app, it will only render a single occupant's name for the label. I'm wondering if there is a way to configure the labels so that they can all show, even if you have to zoom in further to give them all space to render "within" the polygon.

I currently am just manually moving the occupant point in Pro or a web map but I will not be the one responsible for updating occupants once we get the app running and hand it off, and the people who will be responsible for that will not have the capability to do that.

UPDATE:

I did not realize that functionality was within the Space Planner app as well. 😔

Oh, yes. My solution is not related to the labeling, but within the Space Planner app you are able to move the occupant points so they are no longer overlapping. Select the unit that has multiple occupants and there will the a Move icon in the pop up.

I have played around with using joins/relates in order to label and symbolize the Unit with it's associated occupants (rather than labeling the occupant layer) but it seems that most solutions require Enterprise because AGOL Arcade does not support FeatureSet functions for labeling and symbology. Creating a joined view layer did work, but that locks the schema and we often tact on more fields to our data.

I think this is more a limitation of the Map Viewer rather than Indoors/Space Planner specifically. All assigned Occupants just become a point at the center of the assigned room in terms of geometry, and the label overlap options are still limited-to-nonexistent in the Map Viewer. I'm not sure of a way you could do this without getting really complicated—maybe creating joined views between Units/Occupants or creating static copies of your Units layer with matching Occupant names all concatenated into a single field. If you were doing this for a custom dashboard or something that might be okay, but with the Space Planner app or Indoors Viewer, that's not going to fly.

@MollyE Can you elaborate on the solution, please? I haven't found any settings related to labels in the Space Planner app

@MollyE Ah okay, thanks, that makes sense. I didn't know about that move option in the Space Planner, that's handy.

We are using joined views as well for dashboard purposes and have run into some of the same hurdles with schema locks you are. It's manageable, but a lot to keep track of.
