We are trying to get all of our Indoors maps/apps ready to release publicly and are having an issue when users go from the web version of the Indoors Viewer to the mobile Indoors app. We have spent a lot of resources getting IPS set up and plan to eventually implement our 360 photos within maps as well, so we want our end users to be using the new Indoors app (not Classic). However, when populating the QR code in the Indoors Viewer via the "Get this information on mobile" button, it only brings up the option to open in Indoors Classic. I don't see any way to change this on our side (other than just toggling the option to open the native off completely), but is there something we are missing? Is this something that ESRI plans to update soon now that Indoors 2.0 is live?
The "Get this information on mobile" QR code in the Indoors Viewer currently defaults to opening the ArcGIS Indoors Classic app, not the new Indoors mobile app (even if you've fully transitioned your maps to the new ecosystem).
There is no documented way for you, as an admin or publisher, to configure the QR code behavior or change the deep link it generates to open the new app instead of Classic.
Workaround ideas:
-Disable the "Get this information on mobile" button to avoid confussion
-Generate custom QR Codes for the new indoors app. You can use the deep link URL scheme supported by the indoors app to open a specific map or location.
Esri Indoors supports links like: indoors://?webmap=WEBMAP_ID¢er=lat,lon&level=LEVEL or https://www.arcgis.com/apps/indoors/index.html?webmap=WEBMAP_ID¢er=lat,lon&level=LEVEL
@MollyE are you on ArcGIS Online? If your mobile device does not have Indoors (Classic) installed and only has the new (2.0) Indoors app installed then does it open? Also, pls include iPhone or Android device and browser details when you respond.
