Is there a way to change the default sort from Relevance to one of the other choices? I'd like to be able to set the content library to sort based on the title by default.
Hi @SupriyaK -- it is not currently possible to change the default sort from Relevance, but I'm interested to learn more about why sorting by title (A to Z?) would be preferable for your content.
Hi @Emily_Nilson I'm not sure how the Relevance sort is created, but we've found it is not representative of what our users want to see and the order they want to see it in. Not every user that visits our Hub site has the same purpose, so the relevance to one user might not be the same to another. Our users are much more familiar with seeing the data in alphabetical order. It would be extremely valuable to us to be able to make the Title sort the default rather than having the user learn how to make that adjustment.
I've found these similar posts that might be helpful too:
Thank you for the additional info, @SupriyaK ! If you have a site you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd love to have a look.
Hi @SupriyaK and @Emily_Nilson, we have the same need for our Hub site. Sorting by relevance is also not as usable for our users as sorting by title initially.
We figured out a workaround to link to the content library using a URL parameter and force sort by title rather than the default relevance. So when we link to the content library the URL looks like this:
"https://xyz.hub.arcgis.com/explore?layout=grid &sort=Title%7Ctitle%7Casc"
We are interested in trying out this workaround for the same reasons mentioned above. Where were you able to update the content library URL that the hub site points to?
@Emily_Nilson - Here's our example where 'relevance' isn't the most appropriate default sort. We different authoritative data vintages (i.e. 2020, 2021, 2022, etc.), so our older versions are being put at the top of the list because they've been the most viewed, but we want to direct users to our newest versions (default sort by create date).
