Hi there. I don't know if this is a new thing, but it is something that several of our users have noted and started to complain about recently.
We have a collection of 'catalog cards' on our Hub home page. If a user clicks on a Category icon (any category icon), the app navigates to the `/search` page as expected, but the page is scrolled all the way to the bottom so that only the page footer is visible. I can scroll back up to the top - but that's at frustrating user experience. Perhaps interestingly, if one 'reloads' the `/search' page, the reloaded page is focused at the top of the page as expected.
I appreciate any suggestions about why this might be happening and whether the behaviour can be fixed.
Thank you.
It looks like a known Hub scroll-position bug, not something you’ve misconfigured.
What’s happening is that when Hub navigates from a catalog card to /search, it preserves the previous scroll position instead of resetting to the top. Since the click originates near the bottom of the home page, the browser lands the search page at the bottom (footer). A full page reload resets the scroll, which is why that “fixes” it.
Why it started showing up: recent Hub updates changed client-side routing behavior, and scroll restoration isn’t consistently handled on route changes.
Workarounds:
This is a Hub navigation/scroll issue and should be logged with Esri Support or as a Hub Idea. You’re not alone, and it’s not expected behavior.
@VenkataKondepati thank you for the info. I have submitted a bug report with Esri Technical Support.
