Would it be possible to have a notice other than 404 error when there is an outage on the ArcGIS Hub?
we had an outage this afternoon and our public-facing hubs were inaccessible for a period. It would be comforting for both operators and the public to receive a message stating there is an outage, rather than wasting time and energy searching internally for issues with our Hub sites.
Many thanks for your consideration.
During our outage yesterday, our Hub site indicated "This site is private. You need permission to view this site. If you think this is an error, check your URL or login credentials." But I noticed that the other Hub sites that were down gave the 404.
It would be great if this could be changed so that the message gives the public a clue that it is an outage that is being worked on vs something that they don't have permission to view.
Thank you!
We apologize for the unexpected outage yesterday. We identified, resolved, and reviewed the cause of the outage was due to the Hub Site Domains API. We are in the process of updating the Site Domains API to have distributed, multi-region servers and during this migration the servers lost the connection.
For messaging, we currently provide https://hubstatus.arcgis.com/ that is linked from the Hub footer and Hub Overview.
What other types of notifications or messages would be helpful for you and end-users?
