Currently in Open Data, one basemap is designated for the entire Hub site. Feature layers automatically display with the Hub site's basemap when users view data.
It would be helpful to have the option to set the basemap for an individual feature layer (in either the ArcGIS Online item's metadata/settings or the Open Data item's "Manage content" menu) to override the preset Hub site basemap. This would allow better visualization of data to the public.
For Open Data sites with a broad range of data and/or symbology needs, one singular basemap is not sufficient for previewing every feature layer.
