Hello

We have installed Mobile 10.0 on a Trimble Juno SC (Windows Mobile 6.1) and have added 1 Raster field a to store a photo. Has anyone else found that it takes a few seconds  sometimes more to link to the camera, take a photo and save it?

It is alot faster take a photo with the camera out side of ArcGIS Mobile and attach it by selecting 'choose and existing photo'. Is this solved in the new version - using multiple photos?

Thank you

Hi Victoria,

We're using the new Mobile 3.0 on Trimble Nomads and Junos.  The Nomads are about twice as fast as the Junos, but both are noticeably slower taking photos via ArcGIS Mobile than directly with Windows Camera.  We are also experiencing issues (also encountered in the previous version of ArcGIS Mobile) where the device runs out of memory after taking 12 or so photos.  We are only using 1280x1024 (1.3Megapixel) resolution, so the files are only 50-60Kb.

We will probably continue to use the workaround of taking photos separately and linking them afterwards or just geotagging them.

ArcGIS Mobile 3.0 does support the attachment model (if you're also running a 10.1 server) so you can have multiple photos / attachments per feature rather than using the raster field that you're currently doing.

Regards,

Michael.
