I met Sebastian and Chuck at UC2025 and they were outstanding at explaining A4T, implementation and usage.
We want to roll this out to users, but I think I have run into a problem. When I create a sketch in A4T on a Web Map, the linked Portal map (Web Mapping Application) fails to fully load, no frame or layers, just the basemap displays. If I open the Web Map, then save it, the associated Portal Map App loads fine.
I'm currently running Server Version: 11.2.0 (build 49116).
Would upgrading to a newer version of server fix this issue?
It doesn't appear that there's any specific mention of ArcGIS Enterprise versions and ArcGIS for Teams, from what you're describing there may be a bug or possibly a needed configuration change. Does your ArcGIS Server logs or Portal logs refer to any possible failures during the loading of these items? If they do, it may be best to reach out to Esri Support to resolve any possible issues in the config.

Hello @MarcGreening_anschutz
I am happy to help and investigate the issue so we can determine what will work best for you organization! For the best experience we do recommend that the latest Enterprise is used when working with your ArcGIS for Teams and portal content. That being said, when ArcGIS for Teams was first introduced we did start it off on Enterprise 11.2, and I just verified that web maps are opening in our ArcGIS for Microsoft map as well as the sketch and annotation feature in a meeting using an enterprise 11.2 portal account. Though based on your comment there are a few scenarios I can determine.
1) Which sketch feature are you working with in ArcGIS for Teams, the Sketch and Annotation in a meeting using the ArcGIS for Microsoft map or the sketch feature in ArcGIS Map Viewer?
2) You mention opening a (web map) with a linked portal (Web Mapping Application), is this ArcGIS item type a web map or a web mapping application?
If it is a web mapping application such as an instant app that you've built as a web map, then that could be the reason because instant apps (configuring or published) are currently not yet supported in ArcGIS for Teams.
3) You are opening strictly a web map and that is simply not opening, then I would ask if you could email me at ssaballett@esri.com with some details on what is included in the web map such as the type of layers, properties, any specific features pointing to another ArcGIS app etc.

ArcGIS for Teams Sketch & Annotation ex.
Hope this helps and if not I am happy to breakdown the issue with you!
Thank you!
