Search for ArcGIS content with ArcGIS for Teams

There are two new ways you can search for ArcGIS content with ArcGIS for Teams.  

Search using the Microsoft Teams Copilot ArcGIS plugin 

Microsoft Teams Copilot now comes with an ArcGIS for Teams plugin which enables you to search for your organizational content in ArcGIS.

Note: Copilot uses natural language processing (NLP), which trains the AI feature. The more you interact with the Copilot ArcGIS plugin, the more refined and accurate your search results will be.

If you are logged in to ArcGIS for Teams via an ArcGIS Enterprise URL, you can access more ArcGIS content in an Enterprise organization. 

Search using the Teams chat 

Click search in the ArcGIS for Teams chat to search for public and private content.

The ArcGIS for Teams search window opens maps, apps, and other ArcGIS content in Microsoft Teams. You can view the map in the Viewer tab.

When you sign in to your ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise account, you can specify the type of content you want to search for and the search location—for example, private or public. You can also refine the search to find the exact content you want. The ArcGIS for Teams plugin helps refine your ArcGIS content search with every new interactive query. 

Note: If you do not sign in to an ArcGIS account, you can search public  ArcGIS Online content. 

Using Artificial Intelligence, you can access a vast repository of maps and location data via ArcGIS for Teams in Microsoft Teams. 

Summary 

  • Microsoft Teams Copilot now comes with an ArcGIS plugin which enables you to search for organizational content in ArcGIS.  
  • When signed in to an ArcGIS account, you can access a wide array of public and private content, including specific items from your repositories.  
  • Results returned get further refined as you continue searching with more focused keywords, for example, Search for education maps in ArcGIS. You can access the search results in ArcGIS for Teams when prompted via Microsoft Teams Copilot.
