Hello,
Our organization is using ArcGIS for SharePoint to display photos of construction projects based on their geographic coordinates. In one of the layers, we enabled the “Enable time animation” option using the “Date Time Original” field, which causes a time slider to appear at the bottom of the map. In that same layer, the “Automatically refresh layer” option has also been enabled.
However, when new photos are added to the SharePoint library, the slider does not update to reflect the newly added photos. To refresh it, we have to temporarily switch the “Time field” to another value and then revert it back to “Date Time Original.” Users who only view the map won’t realize that new images have been added unless someone manually updates the web part.
Is this the expected behavior?
Thanks in advance
Hello @CID --
Thanks for your question.
The time slider should reflect the newly added point(s). I am not able to reproduce the issue that you are noticing.
Would you be able to share a screen recording?
Thanks & Regards,
Raaj
Hello,
I've shared the details with you via private message.
Let me know if you need anything else — thanks in advance!
@CID - Thanks for sharing the details and the screen recording.
Currently, when new points are added to a list after the time slider is enabled in the ArcGIS web part, if the new point does not fall within the start and end time of the timescale, it will not appear on the map. This is also observed in ArcGIS Map Viewer.
I have added this enhancement request to our book of work. I will keep you posted once its prioritized and scheduled for a planned release. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Thanks & Regards,
Raaj
