It appears that custom developed SharePoint Add-Ins will be retired by April 2, 2026 and Microsoft is recommending migrating them to SharePoint Framework based solutions. Has/is ESRI's ArcGIS for SharePoint been updated to use the new SharePoint 365 framework for web parts?

Hello @RichardDaniels --

The documentation (https://doc.arcgis.com/en/microsoft-365/latest/sharepoint/get-started-with-arcgis-for-sharepoint.htm) we currently have online only refers to the app or the web part. We do not offer support to the old "add-in" anymore.

Thanks & Regards,

Raaj

Hello @RichardDaniels --

Thanks for reaching out to us on Esri Community (EC). The completely redesigned ArcGIS for SharePoint app/web part which was released in 2021 for SharePoint online is built on the new SharePoint SPFx framework. That's why we refer to the "ArcGIS" web part as an "app" as opposed to "add-in". Per the announcement from Microsoft, add-ins will be retired on April 2, 2026. We will make sure that this is addressed in our FAQ page. Once again, thanks for posting your question and if you have any questions/concerns, please feel free to reach out to us on EC .

Thanks & Regards,

Raaj

I look forward to seeing 'how to turn on' ArcGIS for SharePoint app/web part for SharePoint 365/Online. Current Help and Installation pages do not clearly differentiation between the Add-In and Web Part options.
