Maps for Office 2.1.2 excel plugin

Hi,

The Esri Maps for Office Excel plugin is not able to load. I am getting a runtime error during loading the COM Add-in.

Esri Maps for Office Powerpoint plugin is loading and I am able to sign-in to my organization account.

I am having MS Office Professional Plus 2013, 32 bit.

Will appreciate any assistance regarding the above issue.

Hello All,

I was able to find a solution for the above problem and thought to post to be of help to everyone.

This is a common excel error and you need to check the following
1.       Make sure your add-in is installed correctly and it is enabled
Open registry editor and navigate to �??HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\Esri Maps for Office�?�. Here is how this registry key looks like after I installed MyExcelAddin:[ATTACH=CONFIG]32102[/ATTACH]

The registry string we are interested in the most is the LoadBehavior. Whenever you see "3" (Loaded at Startup) as the value of this string you are good in this part and your add-in tries to load when the Excel starts. When your registry string is not "3", that is when the Esri Maps for office plugin fails to load during the startup. Reassign the value to "3" and re-open the excel and your Esri Maps for office should load.
