2021 was a BIG year for the ArcGIS for Microsoft 365 team here at Esri!

We had completely new releases of ArcGIS for Office and SharePoint, that provided a consistent mapping experience and huge performance gains across both products. We also improved the integration of these applications with ArcGIS Enterprise, making it easier to connect to existing GIS services.

ArcGIS for Teams was newly released in April, which provided an integrated experience to access and share maps where the conversation is happening. We’ve heard some great stories about how this application is streamlining access to critical maps and dashboards.

Next on our list, we released the next generation of ArcGIS for Power BI, which included an upgrade to the latest ArcGIS Javascript API as well as other performance improvements. The UI was also slightly altered and now aligns with the other ArcGIS for Microsoft 365 integrations within Office and SharePoint. This was a big step to provide a consistent mapping experience no matter what Microsoft productivity application you are using.

We closed out the year by adding ArcGIS connectors for Power Automate. This work was driven by our user community asking to bring ArcGIS data into Power BI, as well as geocode data for reports and enrich records in an automated fashion.

There are a lot of exciting things coming in 2022. Please take a moment and send us your thoughts on what you want to see us add this year!

We're listening.
