I am currently working on a new iteration of an existing dashboard, and I was hoping to add the new Home Extent feature from v 2025.1.
When opening a .pbix file to edit, my ArcGIS for PBI visuals will occasionally be updated to v 2025.1, but most often the version listed is v 2024.2.600. On the infrequent occasion that I do have a .pbix open with v 2025.1, this version is never reflected in Power BI Service when I publish the report. In other words, if I see v 2025.1 in PBI desktop, enable the Home Extent feature, and publish to service, the Home Extent feature doesn't show up in PBI service.
I've taken the following steps so far:
- Cleared local Power BI storage cache folders (WebView2 and Cache folders) with a restart
- Re-authenticated with my ArcGIS online account in the dashboard.
- Deleted the existing published report in the PBI Workspace and re-publishing when v 2025.1 is listed
These steps haven't changed the behavior I am seeing above. I am doing a lot of editing to this file, and am opening it an closing it frequently, and only occasionally do the ArcGIS for PBI visuals reflect the latest version.
