ArcGIS for office will not work or even start

Been using ArcGIS for Office smoothly for just over a year without any issue. This morning as I was plotting some few points in excel. I had an application crash without any errors. On recovery nothing was working. I kept getting error prompt dialogues when launching Excel(2016). Any Help from anyone?

Did you ever figure out why? This just happened to us. Thanks.

I couldn't really get my hands on why it happened. But I fixed it by
uninstalling ArcGIS for office completely (deleted all residual files even
in the registry) using revouninstaller. Installed it again. It worked
thereafter.
