How soon can we expect the DJI Mavic 3 to be supported in the Site Scan flight app? With the camera improvements and significantly longer flight times, we want to begin using this drone for imagery collection using Site Scan. Any indication of where this drone sits in the support timeline would be appreciated.

Hi @Geobunga

Adding support for the new DJI Mavic 3 in the Flight app is not scheduled yet, we'll provide updates here.

DJI has not released support for the Mavic 3 in their SDK (Software Developer Kit). Without this, it's not possible to add support  for this drone in any flight app. It typically takes DJI about 6 months after releasing a new drone model for them to add SDK support. Once this is available, our development team will review it to ensure it meets our requirements, and evaluate a timeline to implement support.

While this hasn't been tested yet, we expect Mavic 3 images to be supported for processing in Site Scan Manager today. Please give it a try and share your results!

Regards,
Nico

Hi

Any new status on this?

NicoBonnafoux

DJI released an update to their SDK in March, it still does not include support for the Mavic 3.

DJI informed us that they do not plan to provide SDK support for the Mavic 3.

The Mavic 3 series will likely be the first drone ever to be C1 certified. I can imagine that here is maybe a new possibility!? Many greetings!

This is a big bummer, especially now that the Mavic 3E has a mechanical shutter and can have RTK added. Even more of a bummer is that DJI is no longer making the Phantom 4.

Hopefully ESRI is working with DJI for support of an as-yet-unreleased drone with a built-in mechanical shutter.

I came back here to ask if this is correct; DroneDeploy just announced support for the Mavic 3E and DJI's site shows the Mavic 3E supports their PSDK, MSDK and Cloud API.

@NicoBonnafoux should this Idea's status be updated from CLOSED to Under Consideration?

NicoBonnafoux

@JoeBryant1 The Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Enterprise-series series are not the same.
DJI has no plans to offer SDK support for the Mavic 3 because they consider it a consumer drone.

You're welcome to open a different idea for the Mavic 3 Enterprise-series, it's something we're looking into but unfortunately DJI is only offering Android SDK support for it, no iOS.

May I know the roadmap of Site scan to support DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise on IOS please?

NicoBonnafoux

@KevinChan331 that's a question for DJI, they are currently not planning to offer iOS SDK support for the Mavic 3 Enterprise series.
