Does anyone know what determines the units on the measure tool in Field Maps? I've got a map where all data is in state plane, except the Esri basemaps, which are of course Web Mercator. We want to be able to measure in feet.
Do the units of the spatial reference of the basemap determine the units in the measure tool, since the basemap determines the spatial reference of the web map?
If so, that would mean that meters are the only option when using Esri basemaps?
Solved! Go to Solution.
In the app, while on the page (the "maps" page) showing available maps, press the blue user-icon in the upper left-hand corner, and from there you can drill down into the "units" settings (under the general group) to find the "Measurement Units" which will allow you choose between automatic, US standard, and metric.

So easy, thanks.
Makes the day all the better!
I found the solution as outlined - thanks. But all the available units are metric. Anyway to report in Acres?
Thx
Follow the steps you referenced, but instead of going into the "Measure Units" options, press the "Area" option and from there you will be able to choose "Acres."
My "Area" options are metric as well:
Square Meters, Hectares, Square Kilometers. There is no option for Acres.
BUT I FOUND THE FIX: In the same settings (Profile > Units) I had to change my "Measurement Units" from "Automatic" to "US Standard". Only then did the option for "Acres" appear under "Area". The Automatic setting for Measurement Units only gave me metric units. Explicitly setting Measurement Units to US Standard opened the door to Acres (and feet for distance).
Thx! Team effort.
