Using ArcGIS mobile apps for citizen science

I want to use ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS field apps to collect data as part of a citizen science campaign. I would like volunteers to be able to map data points and fill in attributes regardless of whether they have an ArcGIS organizational account.

I started developing this project using Field Maps, and discovered that Field Maps is only available to users with organizational accounts. I'm now considering which of the other mobile data collection apps (Survey123, Quick Capture) to use.

Has anyone else used ArcGIS apps for citizen science? What worked for you? What are the benefits and limitations of each app? Is there any way to make Field Maps work without giving out dozens of organizational accounts to volunteers?

You might want to have a read thru this topic- Solved: Anonymous public editing in field maps -- no Creat... - Esri Community - which offers some solutions.  You might want search for "Crowd Source" GIS data collection.   If just viewing data, a mobile map package (MMPK)  created with ArcGIS Pro can be used in Field Maps without an organization account and used offline.  Markups can be created and shared as well.
