No z value when updating existing point

I am doing a utility survey that requires all new waste water junctions(manholes) collected to have Rim elevation attributed. All existing junctions in the data that are missing these attributes need to be populated as well. I've added the GPS Metadata Field ESRIGNSS_ALTITUDE to the junction feature so I can populate Rim elevation in the field.

When I collect a new junction, this GPS field populates. Yet when I select an existing junction and hit update point, the GPS field remains NULL.

Any idea as to why this is and whether there is a solution?

Thank you for chiming in on this issue! I will definitely keep Collector in my mind for the future.

Has anyone else experienced this issue in 2024? Is there a way to capture the elevation by updating the location of an existing point using Field Maps?

We are currently experiencing this issue right now in the latest version of Field Maps. We, too, currently have a ticket in with esri support regarding this issue. I got passed over to an ArcGIS Enterprise SME for some reason (since we happen to editing a hosted feature layer on our Portal site Lol).

We are using ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal 11.1. We are using a Trimble R2 w/the latest firmware version and the latest version of Trimble Mobile Manager on an iPad Pro. Every time we attempt to update a point's geometry, the z-value doesn't change/update.

Currently all the z-values are showing a value of 0.000131 for some reason. Our TMM configuration is dialed in (using NTRIP RTK for corrections) and our ArcGIS Field Maps is also configured using the correct location profile and settings.

TMM is reporting both the HAE and MSL elevations when connected to the receiver, and the esri altitude gnss metadata field is being properly updated. The esri x- and y-value geometry fields are getting updated, but not the z-value. We were able to set up the Arcade expression in the layer's pop up that reports the MSL elevation in feet, but it would be super helpful to have the z-value also update with something other than the default value of 0. 🙂

We along w/jsilber_CE are pleading to the community for some assistance on this!!! Thanks in advance everyone!!!

Also, I wasn't able to track down PaulLohr's support ticket that was referenced in his post. Does anybody have a live link to it?
