Good afternoon,

Is there a way to configure Field Maps to digitize points only at the user's current location?

Thanks

Hi @JoseSanchez,

Are you referring to using geofences, if so, then there are workflows that incorporate arcade and the creation of geometries to use as geofences when editing.

You can also change the settings in field maps to collect at the current location.

Good morning @RPGIS

I am not familiar with geofences.

Any link that explains how to " change the settings in field maps to collect at the current location. "

Thanks

This is what I was thinking, but my testing shows no change in the way it handles adding point features.

This seems to center the map at your location, but does NOT add the point.

And, does not block the ability to move/add at any manual location.

Anyone actually get this to work?

Hi @RhettZufelt

I am testing Field Maps using the same values in AppSettings. When I open the map, it defaults to showing my GPS location. However, I can move the circle with the plus sign in the center to another location and then press the “Update Point” button, it created the point on a new locaiton.

The feature we want to implement is to create the point at the GPS location, not to move it.

Yes, it defaults to the GPS location, but, I still have to select "Add Point", so the first part (Center the map and add a point at your location) isn't working.  Only the 'Center the map' part is working, it does NOT add a point at that location.

And, am still able to move the point, even though 'Block manual location' is selected.

I even tried the 'Warn when manual location is used' setting, and can move/update the point all I want, submit it, with NO warning or errors.

So, it appears as if they have included the option(s) to do exactly what you want, but failed to make it actually work.

Hopefully someone at ESRI will see this and either point us in the right direction, or get a fix for this on the roadmap.

If this is a bug then feel free to report it to Esri or post the issue. It also depends if the version of field maps is enterprise vs agol where the agol is more up to date.

I tested with AGOL as we are still enterprise 10.9.1.......

Good morning,

Same here I can move/update the point all I want, submit it, with NO warning or errors.

I guess this is a bug.
