I have a FieldMap all set up for offline use, I've created offline areas for use on mobile devices, but now when I want to edit the FieldMap online while on my mobile device, I have to download the offline area to make edits. Is there a way around this, to access the online version of the map without having to download the offline area first?

You can have the same data, but you will need a separate map to be able to have the live and offline editing option in Field Maps app.

Just open the map, disable the offline option, save as new map.

Then, open the new "live" map when you want live editing, the offline one when offline.

As per @RhettZufelt 's comment above, current best practice is to save a second copy of your web map.

Use some sort of tag in your web map titles to identify them. i.e.:

  • "Field Data Collection - ONLINE"
  • "Field Data Collection - OFFLINE MAP AREAS"
