I've just created a hosted feature service in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 with various point layers and related tables. My workflow is generally working ok but in doing some basic testing I've noticed an issue with the photo orientation from an iOS Field Maps client.

These are the steps I'm taking:

  1. Add new record in related table
  2. Press add photo button
  3. Take a portrait photo
  4. Press use photo
  5. Return back to data entry form

All of the photos taken in portrait mode rotate 90 degrees anti-clockwise.

All photos take in landscape mode with the camera to the right turn upside down.

I'm using iOS on iPhone 15Pro Max. ArcGIS Field Maps 24.1.1

Do you maybe have screen lock on the iPad?  The 123 team found a bug in apple that would mess up the Exif tags when you have screen lock on.  It basically though the photos could not be rotated I think.  They coded some way around it but maybe Field Maps did not.  Can you look at the raw photo and see what it says?

I would also try changing the iPad camera to Most Compatible format and see if that helps.  We have found that all the Exif gets stripped if using the default High Efficiency setting (which was a major bummer we lost a bunch of GPS in our photos last year).

Hope one of those does it.
