If I have a field, like a survey creation date, it should possible to set it to be today's date without the user needing to open a separate dialog box and then confirm todays date. this will reduce the number of clicks the users needs to have with the form.
This is absolutely a must! We have gotten so many complains about having to select current date by the people using it in the field. They hate extra typing when they are in a hurry!
Supportive of this, hopefully this can also be not just limited to "Date" but "time" as well
I would like to see this functionality to reduce the number of clicks users have to do and improve efficiency in data collection.
Great news: in Product Plan! Any idea when this will be released?
I would love to know when this will be implemented. It should have been something that was added in the Field Forms configuration. I see a "default date" configuration option, but it's not enabled:
If we could set this to Today() like you can in Survey123, it would be ideal.
Yes, definitely a must have to autopopulate the date field. Thanks for having it in the product plan already.
Bert
It is not enough to have it set to Today() or Now()... it must also be editable after the fact. There will be cases where data will be entered after the date in which a service is performed.
Field calculations are supported in Field Maps now, but if the field is calculated "Allow Editing" must be disabled.
The default Date property is unavailable because this is ties to the under lying table in the database and doesn't appear to be property that can be managed after the service was published or created.
This is available in our March 2022 release of Field Maps.
Doug - can you describe how this works in the new release?
Thanks!
