Hello, I have a problem with a kmz file I built. It overlays correctly in Google Maps -- I exported it from ArcMap with the data frame set to wgs84 dd. See http://maps.google.com/maps?q=https:%2F%2Fdl.dropbox.com%2Fs%2Fqc090kehstmf5fu%2Fwgs84test.kmz%3Fdl%...

However, it is offset in ArcGIS online: http://bit.ly/IpoIRl  -- both are the same kml file.

If I export the map with the data frame set to wgs84 web mercator from arcmap (and change the bounding coordinates in the .kml file appropriately), it overlays correctly in arcgisonline, but not in google maps or google earth.

The native projection of my raster is usgs albers nad83.

So..... The question is, is this a bug in arcgis online, or just "the way it has to be" -- kml files are not compatible between arcgis online and google maps/earth? I can't believe that this is the case.
Any ideas?

I've been able to reproduce your issue. I tried the KML in ArcGIS Explorer Desktop and it works just fine. I am assuming this is a bug at the moment and will submit it as such. KML can come from many sources, so there is a lot of variance in KML. Explorer Desktop is the best KML viewer next to Google Earth, and probably the best KML authoring environment bar none.
