Image not showing up in Pop up but did earlier today?

So I came up with this crazy new idea to put an image in my popup.

It worked 2 hours ago and now it doesn't.

I'm trying to access a file off of a public facing web site which my company runs.

I tried using images from ESRI and CNN and they work fine.

Could my company's firewall "learn" and block my request to get that image from my servers (I sent a question to the network folks but haven't heard back)?

Does that make any sense?

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm just getting a red x from files residing on my company web site.

Please help. I have a presentation on February 1st.

Thank you in advance,
James Cucinelli

still can't figure it out. Works on some computers and not others.

And the popup works in arcgis.com viewer but not in explorer. So baffling.

Hi James - I've not heard of anything like this before. It might be worth sharing the map so we can try and reproduce the failure. However, if it's working on some machines and failing on others, I would try using the HTTP debugging tool Fiddler on the failing machines to find out what's happening.

Shelly,

I thought I looked at fiddler but I will try again.

And if that doesn't work, sharing the map.

Thanks,

Shelly,

Thank you for your help.

Yes, it works when Fiddler is running and doesn't when it's not.

I guess it's possible that I had Fiddler running on Friday morning. I try that trick sometimes with Explorer.

But I don't know why or how this helps.

I guess the real question is why does Explorer work with Fiddler running and doesn't when it's not.

This would suggest to me it could possibly be a proxy issue, because Fiddler acts as a proxy when running. Do you have a proxy in place at your office? Can you post the full resuest details for the request where your popup image is being retrieved? I'm not sure if we'll be able to glean much from this, because obviously there's no failures when Fiddler is running, but you never know...

I am having the issues where a broken image displays in the popup.  I have added the url prefix to the proxy.  Still no luck.

I fixed it.  To show the image you need to add the camera url to the proxy and place brackets within the image source text.

<media type="image" imagesource="{cctv_url}"/>

Shelly,

Yes, we have a proxy.

I have a presentation on all of this for February 1st.

So I can be worrying about this too much more right now.

I'll just have to go with it doesn't work quite right.

The funny thing is that works for ArcGIS.com viewer but not Explorer. Also, we have trouble seeing our services sometimes in Explorer when fiddler isn't running.

And we have SSL.

It's hard to tell where the problem lies but it would be nice to get it all figured out. I have tried calling tech support in the past and haven't gotten it solved.

I will try again after my presentation on February 1st.

Thanks for your help.
