Forum,

I have created an ArcGIS Explorer Desktop project, build 1700, and when the client uses it on his machine almost all of the point symbols look different (and very bad).  The client's computer (Windows Vista) is not used for GIS, and I'd bet ArcGIS Explorer is the first and only GIS program installed.  The point symbology discussed here is controlled using .lyr files from ArcGIS 10.

So my question: Are there some symbol palette files that must be copied to the client's PC to allow him to see the same point symbols that I can see on my machine?

Lee, ask your client to download and install Fonts expansion pack:

Andriy:

Does the Fonts Expansion Pack work for both Build 1700 and Build 1700 Current User?  For instance, the Data Access Expansion Pack shows downloads for the different versions of 1700.

The fonts are installed into the windows fonts folder, so you will need to be an Admin on the computer to install it.  Hence, no current user install for fonts.

Thanks Andriy for the font download link...I will have my client give that a try.
