Issues with speed and display in ArcGISExplorer

I am having quite a few issues using ArcGIS Explorer. I recently installed this program to be able to share data with our clients. The display of the program in Windows 7 Ult 64-bit is very poor and every time the program is opened it changes the color scheme to windows 7 basic. Also the map is cut off and there seems to be a large gap in it showing my desktop(not sure what this is)?

With this being said I can still add layers to my map(which are stored locally). Zooming in, turning layers on and off, and identifying features are extremely slow compared to ArcMap10 and almost makes the program unusable.

Open to any suggestions...

I ran the compatibility tool and this workstation exceeds all requirements. Should also mention, no problems in XP.

2.7 ghz Intel Core i7, 6GB DDR3 RAM, GEFORCE9800 GTX(latest nvidia driver), WINDOWS 7 ULT 64BIT

In most cases it is graphics related. Just to be sure, do you have version 275.33 for the driver?

The driver helped for the most part. The display of the map is back to normal and the speed and refreshing of the layers when zooming is more reasonable which is good.

The program still changes the screen to windows basic every time the program is opened which I don't understand if it claims to be windows 7 compatible. But at least it is usable now.

Thanks

Hello,

I am having a similar problem to the previous thread except when I try to download the driver in the link, I get an error message saying that my computer does not have compatible software.

I would appreciate any help or advice.  I too am trying to share data with a client.

Thank you,

lschuch4,
the driver that Andriy posted is for a specific graphics card. You need to check what graphics card you have and search for that particular driver. The error message you are getting is because you don't have the graphics card that the driver pertains too.

You can add the following into the settings1500 config file, located in: C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\esri\arcgis explorer

Add DisableAeroDWM="false" after the <UserSettings><E3Settings

Setup:
Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge Processor (2.3 GHz)
NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 650M Graphics Card
Windows 7 (64-bit)

Issue:
Similarly, I'm having display issues with ArcGIS Explorer.  When it opens, Windows goes back to using a Windows Basic color scheme (not a problem for me).  But, when it's displayed, ArcGIS Explorer displays the map window over the entire screen.  No menus are seen whatsoever.  My windows toolbar can only be revealed, in part, if I move my mouse over icons I know are there.  Whether ArcGIS Explorer is running in full-screen mode or not, this happens every single time.  It makes it nearly impossible to work with.
There are no updates for my NVIDIA graphics card, so I'm not sure what the issue is.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I have a deadline to meet!

I have the same issue with the map view window opening up on the desktop.  Explorer was working before on this computer, a Compaq 2710, but I had to reinstall, and now it has this behavior.  Device Manager update says that my display drivers are all up to date.  What's going on here?  Is anyone else still having this problem and is there a solution?
