We are seeing image services that do not fully load.  They remain fuzzy or pixelated.  This does not occur for every request, but very frequently.  It is not dependent upon an individual service, i.e. the same service will load correctly sometimes and other times, will not fully load.  We do not have this problem with ArcMap.

All of our services are hosted locally with ArcGIS Server 10.

What steps should we take to investigate the problem and ultimatley resolve it?

Thanks!

Try "clear basemap" and try again without basemap like eg bing !

Thanks for the response.  We are not consuming any basemaps from the Internet.  Clients do not have Internet access; all services are hosted on the Intranet.

I've included some pictrues to help illustrate this problem.  see attached.

In addition, we do not experience this issue with ArcMap or ArcGlobe.

It appears ArcGIS Explorer stops loading the tiles.  How can we fix this?

Thanks for your help!

I tried to use this map http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=b71e06bddd5d448382cc3732299e9e36 to reproduce the problem.

Do you see the same problem when you use this map?

What happens when you right-click on the image service layer and choose Refresh?  Or, click on the Manage Layers button, choose your image service layer and then hit the Clear Cache button.  Or, click on the orb in the upper left-hand corner of the application, click on the ArcGIS Explorer Options button at the bottom of the dialog window, click on the Advanced button in the TOC on the left side, click on the Delete All Caches button in the middle of the window under Cache Management options.

Clearing the local cache will resolve the issue for a fuzzy tile, but we continue to get many fuzzy tiles.  This is not an end solution.

We do not have access to the Internet.  We do not have this problem with ArcMap or other clients; just with ArcGIS Explorer.  Thanks.

Sorry to bring this old topic up to the light, but I am also experiencing this issue.

What type of raster data is ArcGIS Explorer Desktop optimized for, if not tif or kmz?
