Hello folks,

Can someone briefly explain to me how to symbolize two fields of wind speed and wind direction using the wind barbs in the weather or meteorological reference styles?

Not sure how to make it ingest two fields at once to show speed and direction on one symbol.  Also, how do you make ArcMap round the values?  In other words, the barbs are symbols for every 5 kts.  What will ArcMap do if your values are not on 5 kt increments?

Thanks Guys

Check this out:

I think this answers your questions, but note that you can also display raster wind data as point wind barbs. Met data often come in raster U & V components (speed east, speed north - negative values go the opposite direction), and ArcMap (and ArcGIS Pro) can symbolize the rasters as points. This isn't really what you're asking, so I won't go into detail, but if you start with a raster, you don't need to convert it into points.
