Hi. Our university is running a managed desktop system with thin clients that have only images on them. Even files under /MyDocuments are not stored locally but on a server. The problem is that after restarting ArcGIS will not find my files again. Sometimes, it does work if I reconnect the top level of the server in ArcCatalog/ArcMap and navigate down until I find the files. It won't work with the actual path name to the file on the server though.
Does anybody have a suggestion how to store ArcGIS projects in a managed desktop system? Does it have something to do with the path names?
We created a network drive on the server to store application data and user resources. The network drive is visible to all, but using group security, we limit who can actually access the content on the drive.
