Experience Builder Edit Widget configuration overridden by web map form after June 2026 update

We’re seeing a change in how the ArcGIS Experience Builder Edit widget respects its own configuration of "select fields to show" versus the web map’s form configuration after the June 2026 ArcGIS Online update.

In Map Viewer, we configure forms on editable layers to hide certain fields. These hidden fields behave correctly in the Map Viewer form.

In Experience Builder, however, the Edit widget’s "select fields to show" configuration is now being overridden by the web map form configuration, making it impossible to display fields in the widget that are hidden in the web map form. Prior to the June 2026 update, the widget displayed the fields selected in its own configuration regardless of the web map configuration.

We’re seeing an additional behavior when configuring fields in the widget that seems unexpected:

  • If the Edit widget is configured such that no fields are selected to be shown (i.e., all field selections are cleared in the widget configuration), the widget instead displays all fields for that layer. While this behavior is unexpected, it is now our work-around to display all fields for the layer since the widget's "select fields to show" behavior seems to have changed after the June AGOL update.

Are these behaviors intentional?

Thank you.
