We are developing an accessible application using Experience Builder. It will be an application that will be complementary to the Job Bank - Government of Canada interface and have Canada-wide visibility.
Currently, Experience Builder is not able to switch the language in the .html code of the browser, and therefore manual language switch is necessary for the correct language to be read (regardless of workaround, .html code remains lang = 'en', rather than lang = 'fr').
This mostly affects vision-impaired / limited users, however, for accessibility standards in the Government, language accessibility should be seamless. Time "wasted" may vary, but the number of extra clicks could be multiple.
Our idea is to include a language toggle in the Experience Builder setup, which would in turn default to the correct language in the .html code of the web page, rather than be locked to English. This would allow an internet browser screen reader (Edge for example), to switch the language profile of the screen reader upon entry to the application. Experience Builder app in the web page as the language specified in the Ex-B setup.
This function is especially useful and necessary for persons requiring accessibility accommodations. We believe that Accessibility is becoming increasingly important in many domains. For multi-linguistic platforms (ie. Government of Canada, where this is standard), this improvement could mean the difference between using an ESRI product or not.
