We are regularly adding new functionalities in Near Me widget in Experience Builder to achieve the same level of functionality as the Near Me, Info Summary, Screening, and Situation Awareness widgets in Web AppBuilder, With ArcGIS Online February update and Enterprise 11.3 release, we added support to generate dynamic reports from Near Me results from Print widget in Experience Builder.

Known Limitation:

  • Right now it only works with Enterprise 11.3 print service and it is not supported in ArcGIS Online print service.  If you have enterprise environment you can publish your custom print service with reporting capability, share the service with everyone and use it in the online environment.

Requirements

  • This feature requires a custom print service published or a portal item with reporting templates in Enterprise 11.3,
  • Report schema needs to be same as the output data schema from Near Me.

How to create, publish and consume custom print service:

Please follow these blogs and doc to create, publish and consume print service with reporting capability.

Hi,

Do you have an estimate on when it will be supported in ArcGIS Online print service?

Thank you,

Andrea

Hi @AndreaB_ ,

I haven't heard any timeline for supporting this functionality in ArcGIS Online yet, I know that the team is working on this. If you have a custom print service (shared with everyone)in your Enterprise 11.3 that supports reporting, you can use it in your ArcGIS Online Experience Builder app. It will be available to your organization with VPN access.

Also, In Near Me widget, we are working on providing simple export to PDF function, but that won't support advanced reporting capability that custom print service provides. This functionality is scheduled to release 2024/Q3 or 2025.Q1.

Hello @AzizaParveen1 ,

Has there been movement towards adding these capabilities (generating reports through NearMe widget in ExB) for ArcGIS Online in the latest updates? Referring to the Fall 2024 and March 2025 updates.

Thanks

Hey Praveen,

In WAB the Screening widget prints maps and reports without having to publish report templates from custom print widget. All you need is a custom print widget and you are able to print maps and attribute reports. Is that possible in EB or will we have to have a report template published to get any kind of report?

Thak you,
Abi

Hi @AbiDhakal,

In EXB,  Near Me you can also print report without publishing any custom print service, the functionality is called Export to PDF.

Here is the post that talks about this functionality in detail.

Hey Praveen,

Thank you for your reply.

I'm having a bit of a hard time understanding and configuring this widget. In WAB, we used to be able to select the fields we wanted to include in the report for an area of interest, and it would return a list of all the selected field values within that area. Please see the attached screenshots.

Select fields for the report:
This refers to when the client opens the widget—they are able to choose the fields they want included in the report. In this example, we selected four fields.

Output Report:
The area where I’ve drawn a red line above the map is a customizable section—we can add custom text there.
We can also insert our company logo, but that’s done during the widget configuration stage.

More of the Report:
In the area marked with the red line, we can include a brief summary.
Also, importantly, if you look at the report list below, it displays the values for all the fields and its values selected by the client.

If these things are possible is there a way, I can configure it to do that for our users?

Thank you,
Abi

Hi @AzizaParveen1 , thank you so much for this functionality! I've followed your guides for creating a custom report/print service and configuring a EB application to use it. However, I keep getting an error when attempting to generate the report.

I've posted this in the community, but figured you might see this and I could get your thoughts as well:

Thanks again!

Hello - I am having the same issue as @AbiDhakal with not being able to edit the report heading.  I'm in the process of converting a Web App builder "Screening" widget to EB "Near Me" but it does not seem to be a 1-1 conversion.  The screening had drawing options for "circle" and "select" but I don't see that option within NearMe. How do I configure the "Area" so it populates on the NearMe Report.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Can I turn this export option off if my users don't need a Near Me report?
