Did you confirm that your laptop will run it? Check this link and run the Check your computer's ability to run arcmap
Thanks for the helpful suggestion Dan! Do you know should in case that my system does not meet all the specification, can I down grade to the older version, say ArcMap 10.4 which I have used earlier on my system?
If it worked in 10.4, then you would have to reinstall it.
I've uninstalled the ArcMap 10.5 which I have complaints about and reverted to 10.4 which recently the trial licence ran out but with a new trial licence code. The problem persists, still getting the same error message "ArcMap is stopping to work". What can I do in this situation?
The trial license ran out on 10.4? That could be part of the problem. esri won't let you perpetually install and use trial copies. If you are a student at an institution that has a license agreement with esri, contact the administrator and get a legit copy licensed for 1 year. The license is renewable every year that you are a student. Saves a lot of hassles and your institution provides the support you need. Having said that... if you aren't a student, rather than trying to use and reuse trial copies, but the Home edition as long as you aren't using it for business purposes.
Yes, the trial licence of 10.4 ran out. I am a student and I 've contacted my admin, who advised me to uninstalled the expired licence and install again using a new one year licence, so I updated to 10.5. I got a new licence today for the 10.4 which I have already installed but the problem continues. Maybe I have to get back to her to see if there is a way out
your admin can reissue a licence for sure
Thanks Dan, I will get back to the forum once I manage to get any help
