Is there any Data Reviewer option for ArcGIS Pro that does not require updates to be made directly on the features in the the Enterprise Geodatabase? For example, in ArcMap, Data Reviewer writes errors to a file geodatabase and has no impact on the data in the Enterprise Geodatabase.
We recently migrated from ArcMap 10.8.1 to ArcGIS Pro 3.1.4 and updated our database to Branch Versioning. We have also added Calculation and Validation Attribute Rules to the database. We have been struggling with using Data Reviewer in ArcGIS Pro for many reasons, but a main reason is because running Evaluate Rules updates the Last Edited Date, Last User, and Validation Status for every record. Not only does this take a long time to process, but it overwrites all history of when the real last edits to the records were actually made. In addition to losing that history, some of our integrations utilize "Date Modified" to query only the latest edited records, but running Data Reviewer with Validation Attribute Rules updates the Date Modified of every feature.
My current understanding of Data Reviewer in ArcGIS Pro is you have 2 options:
Are there any other options for data quality checks? Or any advice for utilizing Data Reviewer in ArcGIS Pro?
Hi,
Just to confirm, this is the expected behavior when evaluating features using a validation attribute rule. The editor tracking info is updated whether the rule has been implemented using Arcade or a Data Reviewer check.
Would it be possible to get more info (either here or in a PM) on how this behavior is impacting the "integrations" you mentioned in your post? Would like to share this with the development team for discussion.
Thanks!
Sharing with Attribute rules board for awareness since the observed behavior is the same when using Arcade or Data Reviewer-based validation attribute rules.
