I have hundreds of text values categorised e.g. Car, Boat, Lorry, Motorbike etc.
I want users to be able to see a sum of these e.g. 65 cars, 98 Boats, 34 lorries, 150 motorbikes.
But the value field in the Summary widget only allows numeric values.
It is the same for barchart, histogram, pie chart, they all require numeric values.
Is there any way to summarise text values?
Thanks
Rachel
Solved! Go to Solution.
Rachel,
Try the Bar Chart Widget.
You can "Display feature counts as bars" under Display Type.
The Value Field can be set as a Text.
I have the same issue!

Perfect Stephen,
That worked out great.
You don't by any chance know how to get a relational table as a bar chart?
Thanks
Rachel
Unfortunately, relational tables are still not available in Operations Dashboard. Cannot wait for it to be available!
Stephen,
How about coded values with domains? Is there a way to use them as numeric values?
I also have a similar problem then I try to summarize information. For instance, I have field "Status" that can be populated with 0 (domain "is working") and 1 (domain "is not working"). I would like to count all records and records that only represents records with "is working" values.
So, the main problem is, that summary widget can only count all records in one field but it cannot separate these values to categories.
