How to get the date from date picker to use in indicator?

I have a date picker as a filter.  I have an indicator that displays data from a date.  Now when the filter changes, the data changes.  All is good.  I'd like to display the date that was chosen from the filter.  Now that I think about it, I can use the date from the filtered data.  Either one to use I guess.  So the question is, how would I access this date value to get it to display as a line item of text in the indicator?

You can do this with a combination of the 'display a date' and 'dynamic text' sections of the below blog post. Note this will only work if your filter is set up to filter by a single date and not a range of dates.
