Technical support suggested that I create an idea for adding a regenerate control/button for heat map symbology in a dashboard similar to what is available in the Map Viewer. Currently, heat map symbology does not automatically regenerate upon zooming, panning, or filtering the base dataset within a dashboard. The symbology stays the same as the original zoom extent and refreshing the dashboard resets the entire dashboard including the zoom or any filters that have been applied. A regenerate control would allow the symbology to be completely redrawn based on the data within the map extent or based on any applied selections or filters without resetting the entire dashboard.
