I’d like to propose an enhancement to allow the search tool within the map element in ArcGIS Online Dashboards to be expanded (visible) by default, rather than minimized behind the search icon.
Currently, the search functionality is somewhat hidden unless a user intentionally clicks the icon to activate it. While this may be sufficient for experienced GIS users, it can create usability challenges for broader audiences—especially those who are less familiar with dashboards or interactive web maps.
In many dashboard use cases, the audience includes the general public, stakeholders, or internal staff who may not intuitively recognize the search icon or realize that a search capability is available. As a result, they may miss a key way to interact with the map entirely.
