Why are named feature layers showing up in Collector as generic "New Feature"?

I created several feature layers in AGOL for use in Collector, some with more than one type of geometry (points, lines, and polygons). The names of the features show up in the web map and in my content list, but when I open the map in Collector, the feature names all show up as "New Feature". The only exception is one feature layer that was created by using an existing template (Ground_Control). I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S7 with Collector Classic. See attached screenshots.
